About

The Potholder Years

My love for fiber arts began at age five when my grandmother taught me to crochet, sparking a lifelong passion for yarn and wool and all the fuzzy things. I remember cranking out bulky, semi-square pot holders with her in the afternoons, while the smell of something rich and yummy bubbled on the stove for dinner. I made a lot of pot holders over the 4-5 years I spent time with her each summer in Pasadena. As I got older, the squares turned into blankets and shawls, cowls and gloves. My favorite years of crocheting were when I could make cozy, little winter hats for my kids.

Wool is My Favorite

Through the years, I fell in love with many fiber arts-embroidery, sewing, macramé, a bit of weaving. But, wool is my favorite. Several years ago a friend had me over for a day of wet felting a vessel over a balloon using some unidentifiable, matted wool and a nylon. It was sloppy, and wiggly and crooked and the BEST ever! I was obsessed from that day forward. As a wet felter, I craft pieces that bring comfort and celebration—cozy shawls and scarves to wrap up in, and bags, baskets, and vessels to hold life’s treasures and the beauty of every day things.

Felting Workshops

My classes are all about exploration and fun, whether you're shaping 3D vessels, blending textures in nuno-felted cowls, or adding magic with surface design techniques. Come play with wool—laughter and snacks are always included!
