Nuno Felted Wool & Silk Cowl

Stay cozy all winter with your own nuno-felted cowl. Nuno, a Japanese word for cloth, is a wet felting technique that blends wool and fabric to create a soft textile with beautiful drape and texture. We'll use Habotai silk that, when wet felted, takes on a scrunched, softly-textured design. By using a resist, we will make it continuous with no seam. Decorate your cowl with art yarn, any wool colors, as well as embellishing fibers and textures like viscose, nepps, silk hankies, angelina and more! It’s light and soft and oh so warm! Open to those who have had taken a wet felting class.

Registration opens soon!

What to Expect: This is a physically active class that involves standing and vigorous rolling or rubbing using your fingers, hands, arms, and upper body.

What to Wear: It’s handy to wear an apron to catch the water drips and ¾ sleeves, sleeves you can roll up or sleeves you don’t mind getting wet. You’ll need comfy shoes.

What to Bring: Snacks or a lunch and a drink. There is a fridge and microwave available. We’ll have water, tea and cookies on hand for munching anytime.

CLASS TIME:  10:00am - 4:30 pm

COST: TBD at registration opening

LOCATION: Eugene Textile Center, 2750 Roosevelt Blvd, Eugene OR
