Nuno Felted Summer Shawl
Float through summer with your own nuno-felted shawl. Nuno, a Japanese word for cloth, is a wet felting technique that blends wool and fabric to create a soft textile with beautiful drape and texture. We’ll use fine merino wool and delicate gauze silk in a variety of colors to create an almost sheer, flowing wrap that’s perfect for sunset walks or music in the park. Whether you prefer subtle elegance or bold color play, your wrap will be uniquely yours.
This class is best suited for students who have previously tried wet felting and are familiar with the basics.
What to Expect: This is a physically active class that involves standing and vigorous rolling or rubbing using your fingers, hands, arms, and upper body.
What to Wear: It’s handy to wear an apron to catch the water drips and ¾ sleeves, sleeves you can roll up or sleeves you don’t mind getting wet. You’ll need comfy shoes.
What to Bring: Snacks or a lunch and a drink. There is a fridge and microwave available. We’ll have water, tea and cookies on hand for munching anytime.
