Wet Felted Wavy Neck Warmer
Get ready for cooler weather with a soft, colorful Wavy Neck Warmer—a cozy piece of wearable felt that curves beautifully around your neck and adds just the right amount of warmth and style.
We’ll work with soft merino wool in a variety of colors, then add shiny viscose, art yarns, and other fiber goodies for texture, color, and a little sparkle. Make yours subtle and earthy, bright and playful, or somewhere in between.
Learn the Wave
What makes this project special is the way the wool is laid out. We’ll use a fanning technique that creates the distinctive wavy shape around the edges as the fibers felt and shrink. You’ll learn how the direction and placement of your fibers influence the finished form—a fun technique you can use in future felting projects, too.
Because this piece is made entirely from wool, it felts up relatively quickly, giving us plenty of time to focus on design, shaping and finishing details.

What to Expect: This is a physically active class that involves standing for long periods and vigorous rolling using your hands, arms, and upper body.
What to Wear: It’s handy to wear an apron to catch the water drips and sleeves you can roll up. You’ll need comfy shoes.
What to Bring: Snacks or a lunch and a drink. There is a fridge and microwave available. We’ll have coffee, tea and cookies on hand for munching anytime.
