Wet Felted Pinch Pots
Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10:00 - 3:00pm
Eugene Textile Center
Join us for a playful, hands-on felting workshop inspired by classic clay pinch pots. In this class, you’ll create a small felted bowl by building up thick, colorful layers of wool and embellishment fibers, then pinching up the corners to form a sweet, sculptural vessel.
This is a wonderful class for beginning felters and anyone wanting to get a good feel for wool layout and color blending. Working with thicker layers allows you to clearly see how fibers come together, shift, and strengthen through the felting process. You’ll explore blending colored merino, adding shine with viscose fibers or silk hankies, and creating rich surface texture.
Once the felt is formed, you’ll use a selection of colored rivets to fasten the corners, bringing the piece together in a satisfying and functional way. The finished pinch pot is perfect for a nightstand, desk, jewelry, small treasures, or simply to admire.
Along the way, you’ll learn the basic steps of wet felting and discover which tools are most helpful for transforming loose fibers into a strong, cohesive fabric. Fun is always included—along with snacks and plenty of encouragement to explore and play.
